General toxicology studies are performed to fulfill global regulatory guidelines and in compliance with good laboratory practice regulations.
Species Standard strains for the single, repeat-dose and carcinogenicity studies are the HanRcc Wistar rat, B6C3F1 or CD1 mouse and the beagle dog. Other rodent strains and species, including Syrian hamsters and Sprague Dawley rats, are available on request, and the Göttingen minipig is routinely offered as an alternative non-rodent species. NMRI mice are frequently used for acute toxicity studies.
Routes of administration These include oral (gavage, dietary and capsule), dermal or intraperitoneal application, intravenous (bolus or infusion), intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, and inhalation.
