More About John Chick
Mr. Chick, Harlan’s Director of On-Site Research Support Services oversees all of Harlan's on-site support contracts. Mr. Chick has 14 years experience in on-site contract services management, having been responsible for numerous contracts ranging in size from 2 to over 100 persons. Mr. Chick holds a B.S. in Animal Sciences, and a M.S. in Applied Management, both from the University of Maryland.
During his career, Mr. Chick has served in positions of increased responsibility after starting as an animal caretaker. He therefore has an intimate knowledge of all phases of contract facility management, including new facility start-up and AAALAC accreditation preparation. Mr. Chick is certified both as a Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) and Certified Manager of Animal Resources (CMAR) by AALAS, and is a graduate of the Institute of Laboratory Animal Management (ILAM), a two-year advanced management course sponsored by AALAS. Harlan encourages all prospective clients to contact references from past and present customers of Mr. Chick.
It is important to note that, unlike other offers, there is no separation between those involved directly in sales of contract services and oversight of these contracts from a corporate level. Mr. Chick is responsible for managing his contracts to each customer's' specific needs and satisfaction.
