Dear Customer:
RE: Fuel Surcharge Notification
The continued escalation in energy costs have significantly impacted individuals and businesses alike. Since the last adjustment in our fuel surcharge in September of 2006, we have fully absorbed the dramatic increase in fuel cost to minimize the impact on our customers. Unfortunately, like many other companies in our industry, it has now become necessary to implement an increase in our fuel surcharge in order to address the burden of the increased fuel cost.
Effective June 14, 2008, Harlan will change our standard fuel surcharge to $16 per invoice. By applying this fuel surcharge, we are able to make only a marginal adjustment to costs affecting customers, which, helps us recover the increased cost for fuel. We continue to explore opportunities to improve the efficiency of our industry leading transportation services fleet, and our distribution operations, while maintaining the level of service our customers have come to expect from Harlan, and Harlan Teklad.
We appreciate your business, and your understanding. If you need more information, please contact your Harlan sales representative; or, our National Customer Service Center for research models by calling (800) 473-6423; or, for Harlan Teklad Diet and Bedding products, please call (800) 483-5523. Additional details on national fuel rates are available on the U.S. Department of Energy Web site at http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/oog/info/gdu/gasdiesel.asp.
Thank you,
