SNP analysis is provided by Harlan GenScreen™ for genotyping applications when a specific point mutation or single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) is identified. Both induced and spontaneous point mutations are measured using Taqman® chemistries and measured in a high throughput manner using Applied Biosystems 79000HT real time PCR machines capable of generating upwards of 10,000 data points daily. In addition, we maintain a library of species and strain specific assays employed in commonly used research models. These models include but are not limited to: Leprfa, Lepob, Prkdcscid and Foxn1nu. Zygosity of these mutations is easily and quickly determined. In addition, custom assay development is available, permitting investigators to genotype any mutation of interest. Since time is the most precious resource, any Harlan GenCheck™ service (for validated assays) is guaranteed with a five working day turn around time from sample receipt to data generation. Data from all Harlan GenCheck™ services are easily transferred to the investigator through an individually assigned secure password protected Web portal. Because investigator DNA is archived for a period of four months, it is possible to rescreen or even return samples to the investigator for validation or further pedigree analysis. Harlan GenScreen™ will work with an existing protocol within your laboratory or generate new assays for emerging animal models.
