Custom Medicated Diets

Adding various medications or compounds to diets is a convenient way to medicate lab animals, and is a viable option if stability or activity of the compound is not compromised during manufacture or further processing (such as irradiation). The inclusion rate of any given medication can be adjusted to suit your needs. Contact us for assistance in calculating inclusion rates.

Doxycycline
A range of levels of doxycycline (as doxycycline hyclate) can be added to a standard rodent diet (or purified diet if necessary) to induce gene expression.  Some typical inclusion rates are 200 and 625 mg/kg diet, but some researchers specify a higher level.  Doxycycline containing diets are often ordered in irradiated form.  Contact us to discuss your needs.
