 B10 Congenic Mice Origin

  • The B10.A-H2a/OlaHsd congenic line was developed by Dr. Jack H. Stimpfling, The McLaughlin Research Institute, Montana, to GD Searle, High Wycombe. From GD Searle to OLAC (now Harlan Laboratories) in 1978.

B10 Congenic Mice Characteristics

  • Coat: Black
  • Inbred partner is C57BL/10Sn and the donor strain is A/WySn
  • Differential histocompatibility locus H-2a, due to H-2kH-2d crossover.
  • High immune response to ferritin in C57BL/10 and congenic lines B10.M, B10.D2, B10.BR and B10.A
  • Mean survival 128 ± 4.1 weeks
