B10 Congenic Mice Origin

  • This B10 congenic mouse was developed by Dr. Frank Lilly, Department of Genetics, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York.  From Stanford University, California, to Clinical Research Centre, Harrow. From Clinical Research Centre to OLAC (now Harlan Laboratories) in 1977. 
  • The inbred partner is BALB/cJ and the donor strain is C57BL/10Sn.

  • Coat: Albino
  • Haplotype: H-2b

B10 Congenic Mice Research Use

  • Following administration of murine cytomegalovirus, develop persistent myocarditis regardless of age at infection, and age-related cardiopathy is frequent and severe in infected and uninfected mice
