 C57BL/10 Inbred Mice Origin

  • C57BL/10ScNHsd: Developed in 1921 by Little from brother-sister pair (female 57 x male 52) of Miss Abby Lathrop's stock. The C57BL/10 strain was separated prior to 1937. From Little to Russell to Scott at F26. To Snell at F35 and to NIH in 1953.  Derived from a nucleus colony obtained from the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland.
  • C57BL/10ScSnOlaHsd: Developed in 1921 by Little from brother-sister pair (female 57 x male 52) of Miss Abby Lanthrop's stock.  The C57BL/10 strain was separated prior to 1937.  From Little to Russell to Scott at F26 and to Snell at F35.  In 1968, from the Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor to Laboratory Animals Centre, Carshalton. From Laboratory Animals Centre to Clinical Research Centre, Harrow and in 1976 to OLAC, now Harlan Laboratories.
