SJL Inbred Mice Origin

• SJL/JCrHsd:  From Jackson Laboratories, Bar Harbor, Maine, to National Institutes of Health, Frederick, Maryland in 1983. to Harlan in 1987.
• SJL/JHan^TMHsd:  To Central Institute for Laboratory Animal Breeding, Hannover, Germany in 1981 at F93.  In 1994, to Harlan Laboratories through acquisition.
• SJL/JOlaHsd:  Obtained by the Clinical Research Centre, Harrow from the Jackson Laboratory, Bar Harbor in 1975, to OLAC, now Harlan Laboratories in 1977.

SJL Inbred Mice Characteristics

• Coat: Albino
• Litter average:  6
• Haplotype:  H-2^s
• High Incidence of Reticulum Cell Sarcomas resembling Hodgkin's Disease
• Males can exhibit aggression among cagemates
